Five contrast filters
Inverted, blue, mono, orange and natural. Dark ticks in dark fur are much easier to see once the contrast is flipped.
Torch and haptics
A built-in torch for under-belly and behind-the-ear checks, with a haptic tap when a candidate is marked.
What it does not do. Live Scan uses a local contrast heuristic that runs entirely on your iPhone. It highlights what is worth a closer look. It does not decide what is a tick, and it cannot confirm that no tick is present.
Common questions
- Does the tick scanner work offline?
- Yes. Live Scan runs on your device and needs no connection. Camera frames are processed in memory and are never uploaded.
- Can it scan a person as well as a pet?
- Yes. Live Scan works on skin and on fur: behind ears, along the hairline, and anywhere you can hold the camera steady.
